At the age of 18, Andrulewicz enlisted in his home state of Pennsylvania, at the Wilkes Barre recruitment center.

Producing over 31% of America's steel, Pennsylvania was America's leader in steel production during WWII. Pennsylvanian owned companies such as Bethlehem Steel lead the war effort mass-producing tanks, planes, guns for troops and shells used on WWII warships. 

With the majority of the American working force overseas fighting, American agriculture production took a hit. Soldiers needed to be fed so Pennsylvanian Agriculture stepped to the plate and was sent overseas to help feed our troops.
